It honestly pains me to think about the loss of Alexander McQueen. The rawness of Lee’s work has given me true insight into how fashion can be an outlet for art, that it isn’t just an industry about materialism. Through pushing the boundaries of what beauty truly stands for, I have so much respect for the man. The brand may live on, but it’s honestly not the same, Burton’s work is a little too “socially beautiful” for my taste. She does a great job making the brand fashion forward in the couture industry but to this day I don’t think I’ve seen a designer that I can respect more than him. RIP Lee Alexander McQueen.
